Picatinny Rail for Savage Flat Back Short Action - 0 MOA

Quick Check: STOP and Measure Your Hole Spacing.
⚠️ CRITICAL: Savage made Flat Back receivers in Three lengths (Short, Medium, and Long). Your caliber (e.g., .308) does NOT guarantee you have a Short Action receiver.
✅ Fits ONLY: Receivers with exactly 3.93" spacing between the two middle holes.
❌ Does NOT Fit: Savage "Medium/J-Series" Actions (~4.52") or Long Actions (~5.06").
Mounting Hardware: #6-48 Screws (Included).

Installation & Overview

(Watch our guide on how to properly torque and install your EGW rail).

Bring your classic Savage 110 up to modern standards. If your rifle was made before 2003, it likely has a "Flat Back" receiver. However, identifying the correct size can be tricky because Savage produced these in Short, Medium, and Long lengths. This rail is specifically designed for the Short Action variant, which must have a center screw spacing of 3.93 inches.

Machined from domestic 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, this rail is lightweight and rigid. The center channel reduces weight and allows you to use iron sights on some models. The full-length cross slots give you complete freedom to position your scope rings for proper eye relief—something often difficult to achieve on older Savage actions with two-piece bases.

Savage Flat Back FAQ

I have a .308/.243. Is that always a Short Action?

NO. This is the most common mistake. On older "Flat Back" Savages, some short-action calibers were built on "Medium" length actions (often called J-Series). You MUST measure the distance between the two middle screws. If it measures 3.93", this mount fits. If it measures anything else (like 4.52"), this mount will NOT fit.

How do I know if I have a "Flat Back"?

Look at the rear of your receiver (where the bolt handle is). If the top surface is flat like a table, you have a Flat Back (Pre-2003). If it is round like a pipe, you have a Round Back (Post-2003/AccuTrigger).

Will this fit the Savage Striker?

Yes, many Savage Striker pistols use the Short Action Flat Back receiver. However, we always recommend measuring your hole spacing (should be 3.93" center-to-center) to confirm.
