Installation & Overview

(Watch our guide on how to properly torque and install your EGW rail).

Breathe new life into your classic Savage long range build. This 20 MOA Picatinny Rail is designed for pre-2003 "Flat Back" Long Actions chambered in cartridges like .300 Win Mag or 7mm Rem Mag. The 20 MOA cant provides the extra elevation travel needed to dial out past 800 yards, ensuring your older rifle can keep up with modern precision demands.

Machined from domestic 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, this rail creates a rigid, one-piece bridge over the receiver, helping to stiffen the action. The full-length Picatinny slots allow you to mount your scope rings exactly where needed for proper eye relief, solving the spacing issues often found on older two-piece bases.

Savage Flat Back FAQ

How do I know if I have a "Flat Back"?

Look at the rear of your receiver (where the bolt handle is). If the top surface is flat like a table, you have a Flat Back (Pre-2003). If it is round like a pipe, you have a Round Back (Post-2003/AccuTrigger).

Why choose 20 MOA?

20 MOA angles your scope downward toward the barrel. This forces you to dial your reticle "up" to re-center it, effectively giving you 20 extra minutes of angle of upward adjustment. This is critical for reaching out past 600 yards without running out of internal scope travel.

Will this fit the Savage Axis?

No. The Savage Axis (and Edge) uses a completely different hole spacing. Please see our specific Savage Axis rails.
