Description

Picatinny Rail for Remington 788 Long Action - 20 MOA

CRITICAL FITMENT CHECK: Measure Before Buying.
Our Remington 788 mounts are made specific to the action length. The "Middle Spread" is the distance between the two middle holes (center-to-center) on your receiver.

THIS RAIL (Long Action): Middle Spread is 3.29".
(Fits: .308, .243, 6mm, 7mm-08)

WRONG RAIL (Standard Action): Middle Spread is 3.00".
(If your holes measure 3.00", you need our Standard Action mount. This includes .22-250, .222, .223, .30-30).

Elevation Note: This rail features 20 MOA of built-in elevation for long-range shooting (600+ yards).

Installation & Overview

(Watch our guide on how to properly torque and install your EGW rail).

Maximize the long-range potential of your Remington 788 with our 20 MOA Picatinny Rail. The 788 is famous for its accuracy and fast lock time—now you can push calibers like .308 and 7mm-08 to their limits. This base provides 20 MOA of downward cant, giving you the extra elevation travel needed in your scope to dial for shots at 600 yards and beyond.

Machined from domestic 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, this rail is lightweight and rigid. The center channel (valley) running down the middle of the rail reduces overall mass without sacrificing durability. We also include the correct #8-40 mounting screws, which are specific to the 788 and often hard to find.

Remington 788 Rail FAQ

Is my .22-250 a Long Action?

No. In the Remington 788 platform, the .22-250 uses the shorter receiver spacing (3.00" spread). You need our "Standard Action" mount for that caliber. This "Long Action" mount is specifically for the .308 family (.243, 6mm, 7mm-08).

Why choose 20 MOA?

20 MOA angles your scope downward toward the barrel. This forces you to dial your reticle "up" to re-center it, effectively giving you 20 extra minutes of angle of upward adjustment. This is critical for reaching out past 600 yards without running out of internal scope travel.

Do I need to drill and tap my receiver?

Most Remington 788s came drilled and tapped from the factory. If yours has the 4 holes on top, this rail will bolt right on using the included screws. Note that the 788 uses larger #8-40 screws (included), not the standard 6-48 found on the Model 700.
