Description

Picatinny Rail for Remington 788 Long Action - 0 MOA

CRITICAL FITMENT CHECK: Measure Before Buying.
Our Remington 788 mounts are made specific to the action length. The "Middle Spread" is the distance between the two middle holes (center-to-center) on your receiver.

THIS RAIL (Long Action): Middle Spread is 3.29".
(Fits: .308, .243, 6mm, 7mm-08)

WRONG RAIL (Standard Action): Middle Spread is 3.00".
(If your holes measure 3.00", you need our Standard Action mount. This includes .22-250, .222, .223, .30-30).

Installation & Overview

(Watch our guide on how to properly torque and install your EGW rail).

Modernize your classic Remington 788 with our one-piece Picatinny rail. The 788 is known for its fast lock time and accuracy, but finding quality mounting options can be difficult. This rail converts your receiver to a universal Picatinny standard, allowing you to use modern rings and optics with ease.

Machined from domestic 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, this rail is lightweight and rigid. The center channel (valley) running down the middle of the rail reduces overall mass without sacrificing durability. We also include the correct #8-40 mounting screws, which are specific to the 788 and often hard to find.

Remington 788 Rail FAQ

Is my .22-250 a Long Action?

No. In the Remington 788 platform, the .22-250 uses the shorter receiver spacing (3.00" spread). You need our "Standard Action" mount for that caliber. This "Long Action" mount is specifically for the .308 family (.243, 6mm, 7mm-08).

Do I need to drill and tap my receiver?

Most Remington 788s came drilled and tapped from the factory. If yours has the 4 holes on top, this rail will bolt right on using the included screws. Note that the 788 uses larger #8-40 screws (included), not the standard 6-48 found on the Model 700.
