Installation & Overview

The EGW Oversized Novak Red Dot Mount is designed specifically for pistols with Novak rear sight cuts that are too loose for standard Novak dovetail mounts. This mount features an oversized dovetail that measures approximately .007" larger than our standard Novak mount to allow proper gunsmith fitting on oversized or worn dovetails.

Designed around the Docter footprint, this mount allows you to install optics such as the Vortex Venom (open emitter), Vortex Viper, Burris FastFire series, and other compatible red dot sights directly into the rear sight dovetail without permanent slide machining.

Machined in the USA from high-strength 7075 aluminum and finished with a matte black hardcoat anodizing, this mount provides a durable and lightweight optic mounting solution for competition pistols, carry guns, and custom 1911 builds.

Our mounts are designed to install from left to right with the muzzle facing forward. The dovetail features a progressive taper to allow for easier installation and proper fitment. Due to manufacturing tolerances between firearms, minor fitting may be required.

Important: This oversized Novak mount is NOT a drop-in part and is intentionally manufactured oversized to allow gunsmith fitting for loose dovetail cuts.
