Installation & Overview

(Watch our guide on how to properly torque and install your EGW rail).

Sometimes, factory holes just don't line up. Whether you have an older Savage Mark II with non-standard spacing, a receiver that has been re-drilled, or you are building a custom rimfire project, this Undrilled Picatinny Rail is the solution. It features the correct radius to sit flush on a round Mark II receiver and has the ejection port pre-cut, but leaves the mounting holes up to you.

Machined from domestic 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, this rail allows a competent gunsmith or machinist to drill and countersink mounting holes exactly where they are needed to match your specific receiver. The 1-3/8" ejection port cut-out ensures it clears the brass on older Mark II models.

Undrilled Mark II FAQ

Is the bottom flat or round?

The bottom is round (radiused). It is machined to match the curvature of the Savage Mark II receiver. It is not a flat blank.

Why buy an undrilled mount?

If your receiver's holes are stripped and tapped to a larger size, or if your hole spacing does not match standard Savage specs, an undrilled mount allows you to place the holes exactly where you need them.

Does the ejection port size still matter?

Yes. Even though you are drilling the holes, the cut-out for the ejection port is pre-machined. This mount is ONLY for receivers with the smaller 1-3/8" port. If you have the larger 1-5/8" port, this rail will block your spent brass.
