Because the factory Ruger M77 utilizes proprietary integral scope bases, mounting a standard Picatinny rail requires modification. This rail is designed to be permanently mounted to the receiver via drilling and tapping.

With 20 MOA built-in elevation, this is the ideal upgrade for gunsmiths custom-building a long-range rifle on a modern M77 Long Action who want to convert to a universal 1913 Picatinny standard.
