EGW's picatinny scope mounts for the Remington 700 and Christensen Arms short action rifles are proudly made in the USA from 7075 T6 aircraft grade aluminum. This base fits all current production Christensen Arms Ridgeline and Mesa rifles that are based on the Remington style action. This picatinny rail is manufactured with 20 minutes of angle cant and pairs perfectly Picatinny or Weaver style rings.
What rings can I use with your Picatinny rail?
Our scope mount works with all Picatinny and Weaver style rings including, but not limited to:
- Keystone Scope Rings
- HD Tactical Rings
- Talley Scope Rings
- Warne Scope Rings
- Weaver Scope Rings
- Vortex Optics Scope Rings
What are the torque specs on your picatinny rail?
Torque spec: 20 inch/lbs
Do I need to use a thread locker?
We always recommend using a blue thread locker on the mounting screw of the base. For the best results, clean the holes in the receiver with degreaser, place the mount on the receiver, put a small drip of blue thread locker on the mounting screws and fasten them into the receiver with the mount in place. Make sure you torque them to 20 inch/lbs
What height scope rings do I need?
If your objective lens is 50mm or less, you can typically run low scope rings with our rails. Our scope mounts are .35" high (measured from the top of the receiver to the top of the picatinny). Our scope rings are measured from the top of the pictainny to the centerline of the scope. Our low rings are typically .850". When you pair our low rings with our Hunter Series picatinny rail, the centerline of your scope should sit at approximately 1.20" from the top of the receiver.
Do I need a 0 MOA or 20 MOA base?
We always recommend using a 0 Minute of Angle (MOA) base when shooting from 0 to 500 yards. If you plan on shooting from 500 to 1000 yards, we recommend using a 20 Minute of Angle (MOA) base. The downside to using a 20 MOA base is, you may not be able to zero your rifle at 100 yards unless your scope has over 65 MOA of internal elevation adjustment.
What are your Hunter Series Bases?
Introducing the newest addition to the EGW lineup; our Hunter series picatinny scope mount. We saw the need for a shorter, lighter, heavy duty, picatinny scope mount and this is what we came up with. After countless hours of prototyping and testing, the Hunter mount was born.
Featuring:
- 7075 T6 aluminum for an extremely durable yet lightweight construction.
- Type III hardcoat anodizing protects the mount from whatever nature can throw at it.
- Chamfered edges provide a snag free hunt.
- A compact overall length sheds 15% of its weight compared to our other Heavy Duty mounts.
This mount comes standard with a bevel on both sides making it ambidextrous.
The bolt pattern on our Remington 700 Short Action mount fits Short Action Remington 700 rifles (example 223, 308), as well as the 722 and 40x. Despite what you may have heard, the Remington 700 mount will NOT fit your Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard. The bolt pattern is similar, but the remainder of the mount (ejection port, length, etc.) renders it useless on these two guns.
We recommend measuring the hole spacing in your receiver to confirm it matches with the dimensions we have published.
Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. Our one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike.
This mount is a Picatinny-style base and compatible with Picatinny or Weaver scope rings.
We machine these in our shop using one of our machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type II anodized for long lasting durability.
Installation: We recommend 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue thread locker (thread locker is available through our website and is sold separately).
The entire mount and accessories (from the mounting screws and wrench down to the packaging) are made in the USA.
