Installation & Overview
The EGW Universal Blank Red Dot Mount is designed for custom pistol applications where a standard dovetail mount may not exist. This unfinished blank mount allows gunsmiths and advanced builders to machine and fit the base to a specific rear sight dovetail while still using the popular Docter-style optic footprint.
Designed around the Docter footprint, this mount supports optics like the Vortex Venom (open emitter), Vortex Viper, Burris FastFire series, Viridian RFX25, and other compatible red dots. The direct mount design keeps the optic lower than many Picatinny rail adapter setups for improved sight acquisition and a cleaner overall setup.
Machined in the USA from high-strength 7075 aluminum and finished in matte black hardcoat anodizing, this blank optic mount gives gunsmiths a strong and lightweight starting point for custom optic mounting projects.
This is not a drop-in part and will require machining or fitting to your specific firearm dovetail before installation.
Due to manufacturing tolerances between firearms, minor fitting may be required.

Installation Instructions
- Machine and fit the mount to your firearm's dovetail
- Remove the factory rear sight
- Install the EGW Sight Mount into the dovetail
- Place the optic onto the mount
- Apply blue Loctite to mounting screws
- Torque mounting screws to 15 in/lbs
