Signs Your Firing Pins May Need Inspection

Installation and Safety Requirements

These firing pins must not be treated as simple consumer-installed drop-in parts. Correct installation requires disassembly of the shotgun, proper identification of the upper and lower pins, inspection of the surrounding components, and verification that each firing pin moves and retracts correctly.

After installation, a qualified gunsmith must verify firing pin protrusion, firing pin retraction, spring function, action operation, barrel selection, safety operation, and complete firearm function. Incorrect installation or excessive firing pin protrusion may create an unsafe condition.
