The EGW Solution for Your Custom 1911

The secret to a "one-hole" accurate 1911 is a perfectly fit barrel. Here’s why our barrel link is the superior choice:

  • Achieve a Perfect Lockup: By selecting the correct link size, a gunsmith can ensure the barrel locks up tightly in the slide, which is the foundation of 1911 accuracy.
  • Machined from 4140 Chromoly Steel: We CNC-machine each link from heat-treated 4140 chromoly steel for exceptional strength and wear resistance, preventing the link hole from elongating over time.
  • Unmatched Machining Process: Each link undergoes an intensive in-house process—spotting, drilling, reaming, chamfering, and engraving—on our CNC machines to guarantee precision and consistency.
  • Proudly Made in the USA: Every component is manufactured in our Quakertown, PA facility, guaranteeing the highest level of quality control.

1911 Barrel Link FAQ

How do I know what size barrel link I need?

Choosing the correct barrel link is a critical step in a professional barrel fitting. A gunsmith will measure the distance between the barrel's lower lugs and the slide stop pin hole to determine the exact link length needed for a tight lockup without causing "barrel bump" or other timing issues. While the #3 link is considered G.I. Spec, a true custom fit requires selecting the precise link for your specific combination of parts.

Is this a drop-in part?

No. This is not a drop-in part. The barrel link is a crucial timing component in the 1911. Installing the wrong size link can lead to poor accuracy, damage to the firearm, and unsafe function. This part MUST be selected and installed by a qualified 1911 gunsmith who can properly fit the barrel.
