Hunter Picatinny Rail FAQ

How does this rail help with eye relief on large scopes?

The cutout in the center of the Hunter rail allows the large objective bell (front part) of your scope to be positioned further back towards the shooter, past the front receiver ring. This is often impossible with traditional one-piece rails. This extra rearward travel is essential for achieving proper, comfortable eye relief without having to mount your scope higher than necessary.

How much lighter is the Hunter rail vs. the Standard rail?

While the exact weight savings varies by rifle model, the Hunter Series rails are significantly lighter due to their streamlined design and material reduction. They offer the lightest possible mounting solution while still providing the strength and security of a full-length Picatinny rail.

Is the Hunter rail strong enough for magnum hunting calibers?

Yes. The Hunter Series is CNC machined from high-strength 7075 T6 aluminum and is more than capable of handling common magnum hunting calibers like 7mm Rem Mag or .300 Win Mag. For exceptionally heavy calibers or rough usage, we recommend our Heavy-Duty line.

Does the rounded design still work with all Picatinny rings?

Absolutely. While the outer edges are rounded to be snag-free, the top and the cross-slots are still machined to the precise MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny specification. This ensures full compatibility with all in-spec Picatinny and most Weaver-style scope rings.
