Series 70 Vs. Series 80
Series 80 1911s have a "Safety Plunger" in the slide and an arm in the frame that depresses the slide's plunger. Series 70 guns require the use of Series 80 specific Firing Pin Stops, Extractors, and Beavertails. Kimber has their own "Swartz" style safety that works differently than the Series 80.
