The "Docter" footprint (also known as Noblex) is one of the most common mounting standards for mid-tier red dots. If you own a Vortex Viper or the classic Open-Emitter Venom, this is the correct mount for you.
While a universal optic plate might seem versatile, they often lead to a compromised fit. We believe in building parts that last a lifetime.
Every EGW optic plate is CNC machined from ultra-strong 7075 T6 billet aluminum in our Pennsylvania facility. We choose 7075 aluminum for its superior strength and rigidity—it provides the strength of steel at a fraction of the weight.
This ensures maximum durability under the harshest recoil, guaranteeing your mount remains dimensionally perfect and free from the hidden stresses found in cheaper, cast plates.
What is the difference between the Open and Closed Emitter Venom?
They use completely different footprints. The classic Vortex Venom (Open Emitter) uses the Docter footprint and fits this mount. The newer Closed Emitter models (often similar to the Defender series) use the Shield RMSc footprint and will NOT fit.
What is the difference between Vortex Viper and Razor footprints?
They are also different. The Vortex Viper and Venom share the "Docter" footprint. The Vortex Razor uses the larger C-More RTS footprint. They are not interchangeable.
Does this include mounting hardware?
Yes. Each mount includes the necessary high-quality Torx® head screws for a secure installation.
