IMPORTANT: Changes to California Shipping Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
To our valued California customers,
We regret to inform you that due to new California legislation (AB-1263 and related regulations including SB-704) taking effect January 1, 2026, Evolution Gun Works (EGW) will no longer accept or fulfill direct orders from retail (non-FFL) customers who reside in California.
Why We Refuse to Comply
At EGW, we refuse to become an arm of the state surveillance apparatus.
We believe California Assembly Bill 1263 is unconstitutional, unconscionable, and a direct violation of the Second Amendment. This law attempts to force private companies to collect and retain your government-issued ID and mandates that you identify yourself to mail carriers just to receive standard parts.
We will not comply with a law that requires us to help the government track your purchases.
To continue shipping directly to you, the state of California would force us to violate your privacy and security. We would be required to hold your personal documents on file and subject you to invasive carrier-verified ID checks at your doorstep. We believe that handing over the security of your personal information for the "convenience" of a home delivery is a trade-off no American should have to make.
Because we are unwilling to expose your data or participate in this unconstitutional overreach, we have made the difficult decision to stop direct sales to California residents. We hope you understand that this decision was made to protect you and your privacy.
However, we are not abandoning you. You can still obtain EGW parts by supporting your local businesses. We strongly encourage you to order parts through your local gun store or FFL. If your local shop does not currently stock EGW products, please encourage them to reach out to us immediately to sign up as a dealer. By purchasing through a local FFL, you can secure the high-quality parts you need without submitting your ID to a digital database.
What this means effective January 1, 2026:
- Retail customers in California may NOT place orders directly with us.
- We will ONLY ship to licensed Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) located in California.
- Only California-licensed FFL holders will be able to order from EGW and receive shipments in California.
- If you are an individual consumer (not an FFL), you will need to purchase EGW products through a California FFL dealer who can order from us on your behalf.
The new laws impose age-verification, documentation, and shipping requirements on many of the firearm parts and accessories we sell (scope mounts, bases, rails, trigger components, etc.) that make direct-to-consumer sales to California residents no longer feasible for us.
NOTE: According to California Civil Code Section 3273.51(e)(4), FFL-03 "Collector" licenses are not listed as exempt. The only FFL holders exempt from these verification requirements who may order regularly through our website are:
- FFL-01 (Dealer)
- FFL-07 (Manufacturer)
- FFL-08 or FFL-11 (Importer)
Strong Recommendation – Order Now
Any orders from California retail customers that are placed and eligible for shipment before January 1, 2026, will be processed and shipped directly to you under our current policy.
After January 1, 2026, direct orders from non-FFL California customers will be canceled and refunded.
Attention California FFL Dealers: Partner with Us
We want to ensure our California customers can still access the high-quality parts they rely on. We are currently compiling a Preferred California Dealer List of FFLs who are willing to carry our products and facilitate orders for local residents.
