EGW Heavy Duty Picatinny rails are designed for shooters who need maximum strength and reliability from their optic mounting system. Whether you are running a magnum caliber rifle or building a precision long-range setup, these rails provide a stable foundation that holds zero under recoil.
Machined for exact firearm fitment, each rail is built to ensure proper alignment, consistent engagement with scope rings, and long-term durability. If your setup demands more than a standard scope base, this is where Heavy Duty rails come in.
The Heavy Duty (HD) Series is the backbone of our precision lineup. Whether you are competing in PRS matches, hunting with heavy magnum loads, or packing your rifle deep into the backcountry, this is the mount that guarantees your zero stays put.
Most standard rails are made from 6061 aluminum. The HD Series upgrades this to 7075 T6 Aircraft Aluminum. This alloy offers nearly double the tensile strength of 6061, making it incredibly resistant to flexing during recoil.
Which one fits your build? Here is the breakdown:
If you are shooting a standard caliber (.308, .270) for deer hunting, our 6061 Standard Duty rails are plenty strong. However, if you are shooting heavy magnums, competing in matches, or simply want the peace of mind that comes with the strongest possible equipment, the HD 7075 series is worth the upgrade.
0 MOA: Recommended for most shooting inside 0-500 yards.
20 MOA: Recommended if you plan to dial your shots out past 600 yards. It cants the scope down, giving you more "up" elevation in your turret—crucial for long-range shooting.
